Copeland Graded Gala

Venue                        Copeland

Age Groups               9, 10/11 years, 12/13 years, 14/15 years and 16 years/over for boys & girls for all Graded events.

9, 10/11 and 12 years/over age groups for boys & girls for 50m Freestyle.

9, 10/11, 12/13, 14/15 and Open age groups for boys and girls for 100m Freestyle.

Open age group only for boys and girls for 100m IM and 200m IM.

Age on the day          A swimmers age will be calculated as at 5^th July 2008.

Entry times                 There are only upper limit times (not to be faster than) for the Graded events. There are no qualifying times for this gala.

Awards                      Graded events

Medals and ribbons will be awarded for the top six places in each event and age group. Any swimmer swimming more than one second faster than the upper limit time will be excluded from the awards but will be presented with a ‘Speeding Ticket’.

                             Open events

50m Freestyle awards will be made to the 9, 10/11 and 12 years/over age groups.

200m Freestyle awards will be made to the 9, 10/11, 12/13, 14/15 and Open age groups will apply.

Awards for the 100m and 200m IM events will be made to the Open age groups only.

• The 9 year and 10/11 year age groups will swim together but different upper limit times will apply for each age group.

• The 12/13, 14/15 year and 16 years/over age groups will swim together but different upper limit times will apply for each age group.

• In the Open events all age groups will swim together.
